Admiral Ulysses S. Grant Sharp was born in 1906 and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1927. He attended the Naval War College in 1950. From 1964-1968, he was CIC, Pacific Command, and in 1967-68 was Commander of the Pacific Fleet. He also served in WWII and the Korean War. From the description of Papers, 1949-1966.
